PPIAF awards technical assistance grants to developing countries to support a wide range of advisory and learning-related activities.

In fiscal 2007, PPIAF continued to direct the largest share of its funding (52 percent) to support infrastructure development strategies. Following that 20 percent of the funding goes to support policy, regulatory, and institutional reforms and capacity building accounts for 13 percent. The share for pioneering transactions accounted for 8 percent of the portfolio.

PPIAF grants have supported the development of more than 100 sector laws and reform strategies, assisted in nearly 100 transactions, and strengthen more than 50 institutions. Since its inception in 1999, PPIAF has supported 625 activities in 108 countries.
