PPIAF

PPIAF’s grants for telecommunications activities, about 9 percent of its portfolio, have facilitated private investment in riskier postconflict countries and helped expand services to rural areas through universal access schemes.

In Haiti, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Sudan PPIAF grants are helping to build regulatory frameworks to support telecommunications reform. In Indonesia and Sri Lanka PPIAF has funded the development of backbone telecommunications networks.
