PPIAF

PPIAF grants can support governments with a range of technical assistance as they transform the legal, regulatory, and commercial aspects of their country’s infrastructure sectors. This assistance could include facilitating early consultations with stakeholders to assess the political environment for reform, designing a legal and regulatory framework, creating an infrastructure strategy that lays out options for private participation, or providing recommendations for catalyzing financing. In addition, PPIAF’s global knowledge portfolio, by imparting global experience and proven good practices, helps governments make sound choices.

Beyond this, a PPIAF program targets assistance to sub-national entities. PPIAF’s Sub-National Technical Assistance Program aims to help local governments and local utilities build their creditworthiness so they can raise their own financing for infrastructure investment—without involving a private partner.
