BANGLADESH: Improving Public Transport Service in Chittagong

The objective of the project was to inform the Government of Bangladesh and local government agencies of the status, problems and potential improvement measures of urban transport in Chittagong, and to help identify priority interventions for short- and long-term. It was planned to achieve this objective through the preparation of Strategic Urban Transport Master Plan as well as analytical studies. Activities to develop the Master Plan and implement analytical studies included:

(2) Appraisal of current situation
(3) Traffic Survey and Demand Analysis
(4) Strategic Urban Transport Master Plan
(5) Pre-Feasibility Studies for BRT and Bus Lanes
(6) Capacity Building and Assistance for Reform
(7) Dissemination Workshop and Reporting
