GHANA: Municipal Financing Alternatives for the Municipality of Sekondi-Takoradi

In 2012 PPIAF provided support to the municipality of Sekondi-Takoradi to assess its road network and the financing options for road improvement and maintenance projects. The activity examined the regulatory framework and institutional arrangements for the transport sector, the financial situation of STMA and the consitions of the existing road network. The municipality's capacity for implementing PPP projects was also assessed and areas of weakness were identified. The final report outlined the municipality's short, medium and long-term transport infastructure needs and identified pilot projects that could be implemented through PPP structures.
